If we could say, ‘We are respectful and courteous in our dealing with children, we treat them as we should like to be treated ourselves,’ we should have mastered a great educational principle and be setting an example of good education.

Lisa has a Commercial Art degree from Endicott College, a management certificate from UNH, and has attended Montessori Administrator and Assistant Workshops.

Rachel French

Rachel has been working at the Montessori Schoolhouse since January of 2017 and in early childhood education since 2008. She has an Associate in Arts degree from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ.

Rachel has an art and education background, and has taken many additional art courses, and taught childrens' art lessons in various settings. Rachel enjoys interacting with children and sharing her love of art. She enjoys fostering their creativity and watching their imaginations grow.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys sketching and painting, walking outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Susan Carbonara

Assistant Primary Teacher - Ballroom Classroom

Susan started working at Montessori Schoolhouse in 2015. Before that, she was a Montessori Schoolhouse parent starting in 1996 when her two oldest daughters were enrolled - with Kathy being one of their first teachers!

Susan studied World Literature and Women’s Studies at SUNY Oneonta. She has also taken several classes in Early Childhood Education at River Valley Community College. She’s worked with children in the Keene and Monadnock school districts, but prefers the “follow the child” approach of Montessori education.

Outside of work, Susan loves spending time with her four children, going to the beach, and a good book.

Toddler Program

Kathy Glimenakis

Lead Toddler Teacher - Nido Classroom

Kathy was one of the original founders of Montessori Schoolhouse in 1989. She served for seven years on the school’s board, and in August 2021 she celebrated her 25th year of teaching at Montessori Schoolhouse.

Before turning to education, Kathy’s first career was in nursing. She spent seven years as a nurse at a hospital in Massachusetts. She began teaching in 1996 and completed her American Montessori Society (AMS) infant/toddler certification training at the Northeast Montessori Institute.

Kathy adores the toddler stage because so much is happening: language development, socialization, growing independence, and conflict resolution. She finds teaching young children very rewarding and enjoys watching the children develop friendships and learn to trust and empathize with each other.

Outside of work, Kathy loves to read, walk, and travel.

Tammy Lloyd

Assistant Teacher - Nido Classroom

Tammy has been working at the school since January 2022 as a classroom assistant. Previously she worked as a licensed nursing assistant in the classroom for several Montessori Schoolhouse students. Tammy has been working with children for over 30 years in many different settings.

Tammy has a B.S. in Education from Fitchburg State College. She has taught and cared for children at several local schools and Interim Healthcare.

Tammy enjoys working with young children and watching them as they discover the world around them. She loves the toddler years as it is amazing to watch as they grow and develop in so many ways. Their inquisitive nature makes everyday working with toddlers exciting. Outside of work, Tammy enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with her family and black lab.
